1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. This site uses as few as it can, and nothing beyond the strictly necessary ones runs without your consent.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the site to work, are not subject to consent, and are never used for advertising. None of them follow you to other websites.

akb_locale - remembers the language you chose, so you do not have to choose it again on every visit. Lifetime: 12 months.

akb_country - holds the two-letter code of the country you are connecting from, used to suggest the right language. Lifetime: 30 days.

akb_consent - records whether you accepted cookies. Without it we would have to ask you again on every page. Lifetime: 180 days.

3. Cookies that need your consent

The following load only if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie notice. Choose "Necessary only" and none of them are downloaded to your browser at all.

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) - measuring how the site is used. Lifetime: up to 24 months depending on the cookie.

Google Ads conversion tracking - measuring whether a visit from an advertisement led to an enquiry. Lifetime: up to 90 days.

Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) - advertising measurement and retargeting. Lifetime: up to 90 days.

4. Measurement that uses no cookies

The site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load and which pages are viewed. These write no cookie to your browser, do not follow you between sites, and do not build a profile that identifies you, which is why they are not placed behind the consent notice. They operate on the basis of legitimate interests.

5. The map

The map on the contact page is served by Google. It loads when you open that page, and Google may set its own cookies at that point. If you would rather it did not, you can avoid the contact page and use the link to the address below the map instead.

6. Withdrawing your consent

You can withdraw consent whenever you like. Delete this site's cookies in your browser settings; the notice appears again on your next visit and you can choose differently.

You can also block cookies entirely in your browser. Some conveniences, such as remembering your language, will then stop working.
